re: TBT...

Hey j-monk,

TBT is a tough trade.

I could very easily be wrong on this one, so if anyone has
"firm" convictions otherwise, don't let me talk you out of it.

Here's my thinking...

To beat the banksters, you have to think like a bankster.

They could easily have used this last meeting as a bully
pulpit to "talk down" long rates, but they chose not to.

Why?

Why would they fail to use a weapon that had no downside?

The only reason in my opinion, is if they wanted to keep
traders honest, suck them in short, and then come out and
make the announcement & buy long Treasuries off of Obama's
"Big Bang" bailout and stimulus package announcement.

The trade seems too easy, too obvious, and everybody and
their mother-in-law are in on it. But, you could have said
the same thing about gold too.

My brain said stay short 'em, but my gut said... wait.

We'll soon find out who was right <vbg>.
