RW, anyone who accepts the claim this is a "stimulus" bill is taking it up the ass from obama.

This bill is two things -- a political payoff for certain supporters, and a down payment on the extreme liberal socialist agenda that Obama planned from the outset.

He's trying to cram it down American's throats -- striking while the iron's hot.

Americans DO NOT WANT this socialism in our country. It is no coincidence that support is down to 37% -- basically, the level of Yellow Dog democrats. Half the public now believes the spending bill will do more harm than good.

This pile of crap must be defeated.

I watched a good part of this... it was good. He has to figure a way to get to the people; the Republicans have so many more media outlets that are one sided, while the MSM is compelled to 'show both sides' even when it doesn't make sense.

There are good media people who will present him in a good lite........people like AC 360, Olbermann, Joe Scarsborough and Rachel Maddow would be more than glad to host him and interview fairly. I think he's starting to take advantage of them. And if push comes to shove, he can ask for air time on the major networks. They'll be more than glad to give it to him.

As is typical of self destructive Rs, they run the risk of shooting themselves in the foot. This stimulus bill will pass in a good form and is likely to be successful. If the Rs are on the wrong side of it, they will put another nail in their coffin.

But after days of absorbing rhetorical attacks, Obama and Senate Democrats mounted a counteroffensive against Republicans who say tax cuts alone can cure the economy.

Good. Obama shouldn't be doing this alone. Other Dems and cabinet members need to be step up to the plate as well.

Obama said the criticisms he has heard "echo the very same failed economic theories that led us into this crisis in the first place, the notion that tax cuts alone will solve all our problems."

Amen to that.......those Rs and their failed tax cuts.
