Geo Minerals and Alix Resources Sign Agreement With Nucoal for Torch River Property in Saskatchewan

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Feb. 4, 2009) - GEO MINERALS LTD. (TSX VENTURE: GM.V) and ALIX RESOURCES CORP. (TSX VENTURE: AIX.V)(FRANKFURT:37N) (The "Companies") are pleased to announce that, pursuant to their agreement with Nucoal Energy Corp. previously announced on November 5, 2008, Alix and Geo have exercised an option to acquire an undivided 60% interest, and up to 80% upon completion of a feasibility study, in mineral interests located in the Torch River area of the Province of Saskatchewan. Coal Prospecting Permits with respect to these Torch River claims have been issued by Saskatchewan Ministry of Energy and Resources.

The Torch River ground represents area covered by 7 townships, 64,512 hectares or 159,344 acres, approximately 98 coal prospecting permits. The ground is adjacent to Weststar announced "18 metre property" located immediately to the East and adjacent to North American Gem's ground located to the south and west.

As reported, Geo and Alix are well positioned in Saskatchewan, with interests in areas under permit including the Wapawekka Lake area north of Goldsource Mines' recently announced Ballantyne permits; ground adjacent to the North American Gem's Adamas discovery; ground to the north of Goldsource Mines' Border property and ground covering the Montreal Lake historical coal intercepts previously announced.

The Torch River interests are in addition to other interests that Geo and Alix also have under agreement with Nucoal, including coal interests located on the Manitoba side of the Goldsource Mines Border property.
