I just deleted a long response. Your commentary stimulated a great deal of thought but I happen to agree with your statement:

"That concept, that philosophy, i find immoral and cruel."

I doubt, however, that it fairly represents the views of principled and decent Christians, like Brummar, who may feel it too pointed, presumptuous, or broad. But I will let him speak for himself.

I'm speaking directly to the idea that if you accept Jesus Christ as your lord and savior, you are saved. You go to heaven regardless of what terrible sins you may have committed in the past: rape, murder, whatever.

This is true. The thief on the cross next to Jesus saw who he was and asked for forgiveness, Jesus said the thief would be with him that day in paradise. The ultimate death bed confession.

While on the other hand the most moral and decent person who does not accept Jesus Christ as their lord and savior goes to hell.

The most moral and decent person is still a sinner in the eyes of God. No one gets to theaven except through Jesus. You must accept him and have faith.

That concept, that philosophy, i find immoral and cruel. Many religions, including some Christian sects are giving up the concept of a literal heaven and a literal hell. I think that will continue. Decency demands it.

SD

You find it immoral and cruel. Who cares. You are a man.

Giving up the concept of a literal heaven and a literal hell, the requirement that one must believe in Jesus Christ are all false religions.

Your belief it will continue is true, it is also foretold in the Bible. You offer nothing that has not already been told to us.

Decency? You think the world today is a decent place? LMAO.

Perhaps you are immoral and cruel to pretending you know the mind and intention of God when you don't Pretending to know something that you don't know is the worst type of vanity.

"G.K. Chesterton once remarked “children,” “are innocent and love justice; while most of us are wicked and naturally prefer mercy.” Tolkien
