We're getting far enough along in this bear that I'm beginning to raise my exposure against the "recession-proof" ones. I really don't even care if their earnings really ARE recession-proof. That doesn't matter. At some point their STOCK will no longer be recession-proof.

Deflation is bad for stocks. Period. All stocks go down in a deflationary environment, with very few exceptions. Interest rates - for anything except government-supported rates - have risen substantially, and PEs are falling even for steady earnings streams. Stocks like ROST ORLY and AZO don't reflect this.
