For a single person I think US SS is better. A couple in the US gets SS for both of them determined by the amount paid in, age etc.

The US starts @ around 17.62 month per person at max if started @ age 62 @ age 66 2386 and @ 70 is 3,193

Disability is 2,350 with total family benefit of 4,145

ages in between those dates mentioned are adjusted for the extra time you waited too collect.

A side by side comparison may show some differences. I believe the early (age 62) retirement being the greater.

I have no doubt that both countries have a great number of false disability claims and other ways scammers play the system.
