You cant go back to 1932 for solutions, nor can you go back to 1980.

No, and Obama is taking pages right out of the FDR playbook, ASSUMING they'll still work now. But he's missing some of the important details.

FDR ordered Hopkins to put people to work in September and by January he had created 2,000,000 jobs. That isn't what Obama is doing. By a long shot.

Michael, this is a socialist agenda that has little to do with bringing the economy back.

McCain was a thouroughly confused candidate and i was worried about his age.

I believe McCain is a powerful voice for the Rs right now.

I was hopeful about obama but he has not gotten off to an auspicous start. Will vote for someone else in 012 if he cant control the left wing of his party or is as you say, a leader of the left. Having said that some of the more radical stimulus proposals from both the krugman left and the steve forbes right makes much more sense than some of what this bill is offering.

Michael, this bill is an unmitigated disaster. And Obama is trying his best to get us to swallow it -- essentially, threatening us -- "if you don't pass it, we could see a depression that will NEVER come back". He is trying to use scare tactics to shove this radical agenda down our throats and I don't appreciate it.

Stimulus is fine. But this is just a free for all. Bush set the stage for it by going forward with the TARP boondogle so he gets some blame. But this buck stops with Obama.
