AMAT down 5, KLAC down 7, NVLS down 8 TXN down 7 1/2 KLIC down 3 All the chip companies are getting downgraded due to problems in asia. This assumes that the some of the problems are going to affect orders through 1998 and they wont have money to expand. According to some reports it does not seem that way, The money is allocated far in advance for expansion, and to remain competitive they have to go through with the advances and expansions anyway unless DRAM prices especially drop 35% or more. Currently they are down 10% or so.. Could be buying opertunity for people with steel stomachs and large bottles of pepto..
