Economics 101.

The Fed creates bank accounts with the money in them and then pays for the bonds with those bank accounts.

Printing? Nah. A waste of paper. Just hit a few keys on the computer.

It sounds like you may think I am being sarcastic. Just buy an economics textbook.

I remember reading an SI post from someone claiming to be an inmate at a mental institution. He said there were enough electrons in a 9 volt battery to pay the national debt.
