Paul;

And for the working poor, those with jobs that don't pay enough to cover the rent, commuting and food, you would prefer that they and children starve?

There is a limit to what we can put into the stimulus bill - if not for economic reasons then political reasons. Every dollar going to food stamps and unemployment and condoms is another dollar NOT going to provide a working job on infrastructure. I want all emphasis to go towards rebuilding America - it's a vision thing Paul.

Argue as hard and long for food stamps and condoms as you want - but do so under the regular appropriations so that we can decide how much we can provide.

Besides, I think it is wrong that I pay my taxes and eat chuck steak and hamburger because I am careful with my dollar while the recipient of food stamps gets to dine on the finest choice of steak on my tax dollar. Or in the case of the stimulus bill the food stamp recipient eats steak and charges the cost on to my kids ........with interest.

Paul, do you really think Americans were voting for more food stamps in that last election?
