BACKGROUND

Dr. Edmond D. Villani is a Partner at Intana Management LLC, New York. He is also the President and Chief Executive Officer at Scudder Private Investment Counsel. Dr. Villani joined the firm in 1974 and after spending a number of years in the research department and as the firm's Senior Economist, he moved to Scudder's Los Angeles office, where Dr. Villani assumed responsibility for managing the Reserve Asset Management Group. In 1990, he returned to New York and in ... 1991, Dr. Villani was named the President, Chief Investment Officer, Director, Chair of Management Committee, and Member of Executive Committee at the firm. Previously, from July 1996 to 2002, he served as the Chief Executive Officer at Scudder, Stevens & Clark and its successor entities. Dr. Villani was a Vice Chairman at Deutsche Asset Management, North America until December 31, 2005. He also served as the President, Chief Executive Officer, and Member of Group Management Board at Deutsche Investment Management Americas Inc. (previously, Zurich Scudder Investments, Inc.). Dr. Villani is currently the Chairman of the Board at Georgetown University; a Member of the Board of Director at Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, Cohen & Steers, and Cohen & Steers Capital Management, Inc.; and a Member of the Investment Committee at the Rockefeller Brothers Fund. In addition, he Chairs the Advisory Board of the Penn Institute for Economic Research at the University of Pennsylvania and is a Member of the International Capital Markets Advisory Committee of the Board at the New York Stock Exchange. Dr. Villani is a Director of The Crescent Group. He received a B.A. in Mathematics from Georgetown University with a Phi Beta Kappa, Woodrow Wilson Fellowship in 1968, and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania in 1973.
