Well housing and banking is chicken and the egg - you can't have one without the other in todays economies. If Obama suggested a moon shot like program to build 20 wind farms and 20 nuke plants and provided locations and schedules I'd be able to get behind the spending plan - but when they simply allocate dollar figures to each government dept with no specifics it's rather hard to see what the money will actually do - not to mention the fact only 20% would be spent in 2009 and the rest on 2010 - not sure why they can't approve a smaller figure now and come back for the rest next year if needed. Using the current issue to heap on so much debt is reckless.

You haven't looked at the plan very closely, have you? If you had, you would have seen there are a number of specifics.
