Bingo, and D--b is a smart guy but doesnt see that. Fighting supply side wars in demand side crisis is nuts. Having said that lets not tear down the supply side for ideological reasons or to save some money because the second leg will require low-moderate tax rates to keep any recovery on track. Thats why i go nuts when i hear 50%. (PS if you do have to play with some stuff to raise cash, then sunset it).

You do not create demand by artificially increasing prices of homes - right now the air is being let out - demand will return when the value balance returns. To accelerate that the government can help retire the bad debt/assets. They can also put in place regulations that require sensible lending practices to return. Zero down - wtf is that?
