"I know if you found a computer in the woods, you would assume nobody made it and put it there. It grew there by itself, a product of nature."

I heard two uneducated people arguing the other day, one a lawyer the other a social worker, that one philosopher was greater than another. The lawyer said that Plato was greater than Aristotle because he came first. The social worker argued equally stupidly on behalf of Aristotle.

I thought to myself that Socrates must be a greater philosopher than either because he came first but someone still had to come before him. It must trace back to someone falling out of a tree and then I thought Steve must be the greatest philosopher.

"The Declaration of Independence dogmatically bases all rights on the fact that God created all men equal; and it is right; for if they were not created equal, they were certainly evolved unequal. There is no basis for democracy except in a dogma about the divine origin of man." - G.K. Chesterton - Chapter 19, What I Saw In America, 1922

I know if you found a computer in the woods, you would assume nobody made it and put it there. It grew there by itself, a product of nature.

Another stupid argument that never ceases to amaze me. A tree is a product of nature. A computer is not. I know you're not that stupid, so maybe you can realize how dishonest such an argument is? It appeals to emotion, not reason.

Furthermore you're argument is: anything that exists must have a creator whether it be a tree or a computer. You say God exists. Therefore God must have a creator, right? And so on to infinity? Or is your logic of creation only a sometimes thing?

The absurdity never ends.

Why don't you just concede that your belief is based on faith, not logic or science? I'd have no qualm with that whatsoever. And i have no qualm with believers of all faiths who recognize their beliefs are faith based beliefs, not scientific facts.

Its nice you're casting off the 'liberal Christianity is okay with me, respected by me' cloak and showing contemptuousness for all who believe in God. Don't you think you were being dishonest pretending otherwise in other posts?

More false illogical stupidity. Or is it simply knowing dishonesty? Belief in God is a leap of faith, not a scientific or logical endeavor. Many believers of all faiths realize and acknowledge that. Science and faith should coexist peacefully as separate realms. My advice to you: stop mixing them, stop confusing one for the other. Knock it off.

"Nevertheless, as science says, its either God or an infinity of unique invisible hypothetical universes."

That's disingenuous statement....many scientists believe in a god but not for the silly reason you state. You, on the other hand, can't get past fantastic bible stories that you claim is proof of a man god.... And now you are talking about multiple universes????? No reputable scientist would say it's one or the other when there is no evidence for either.... As a Christian, why do you try to distort things so much....you're not equipped to do it and get away with it.....you will piss people off however....

"I know if you found a computer in the woods, you would assume nobody made it and put it there. It grew there by itself, a product of nature."

There was a movie made about 20 years called "The Gods Must be Crazy"....Flying over the deepest jungles in Africa someone in a plane tosses out a Coke bottle.... Natives below find it and are totally befuddled with it....not being able to figure it out, they concluded it came from the gods.... and the story proceeds from there.. You are analogous to those natives..
