Yep, Obama will continue to lose political capital if he continues to try and bring the Republikans into the tent. They do not want to come in, they want to burn it from the outside. Time is a wastin' and Obama and the Dems should let the country see the spectacle of the obstructionist GOP every day of the week. Let their constituents call and write and email and visit their representatives about their unwillingness to get with the program.
