You would have to ignore all of the implications of the Cold War back then, which was just getting started, just to come to your conclusion.


What implications? That the US was Oceania and Russia was Eurasia? People are getting smarter that that. Creating enemies to justify growing your military and making your wealthy richer is very 20th century. We need to be doing what's best for humankind, not Russians or Americans or Kenyans.
