" You were right, Got filled at 27 15/16 "

Boy, you timed that one. You may have hit the low of the day and you told us about it ahead of time. If this was Vegas people would be coming up to touch you.

Fred, <<You were right, Got filled at 27 15/16.>>
How did you manage this this? I had an order to buy 1000 IOM at 28 all day and it never got touched. My order was with Discover Brokerage Direct (Lombard) and I have heard on this thread before that people have experienced orders not getting filled from these people in the past. If you don't mind me asking, who did you trade with?

Paul.

Fido, <<Off-thread>> It's a devil of a job keeping up with this thread if you only do it part time like me. Earlier you were looking for areas to put some of your dough. I have big investments in oil majors, oil drilling and service companies.

I work for an oil company and have been into oil stocks for about 10yrs and have made some big gains up until recently. The market has slowed a little and our company economists are convinced that there is too much supply right now to expect the oil price to have much upside.

The prospects are fairly good at current prices due to the new techniques we have for accessing reserves by horizointal drilling and remedial operations. If you are looking for value, it might pay to look at TX. (not my company!) It has the lowest PE (around 13) and has a high yield.

This year I started tracking drilling and oil service stocks. SLB is a clear leader in the field but have made big gains already but should have room to grow further. SLB insiders tell me that they are facing a rosy picture for next 10yrs. Demand for their services is at an all time high and still growing.

This last few weeks I have done well in DO they have gained while the market tanked. Also made gains in SDC and BHI. These are all MSDW recommended stocks so I did not pick them out on my own.

Good luck with your cash pile.

Paul.
