I was merely pointing out that the amount of energy in teh radiated waves is so small that you would either need a long time or a VERY VERY large array to capture the energy.

For something like a once a month RFID responder, then having it save up energy all month from a TV signal might be wroth it, but not to run anything of substance. microwatts does not get you much these days.

There is far more radiated 60 HZ noise power out there and it is very coherent in phase everywhere. You can put up a flourescent light bulb under a 250kVA line and it lights up real nice. No wires needed. You would be far better to do that in any kind of populated area than to try to find TV waves.

The actual noise power from 60 Hz is alot.

And BTW - Most of our stuff these days runs on DC, not AC, so aside from the big motors in your house, suich as the washing machine or refrigerator, everything else runs on 12 volts or less. Each power pod to convert has a pwoer supply effciency which wastes power and costs. It might be better to just go to DC and stop using AC altogether.
