Take a look at how bad the air is in China and India, even Mexico City, yet America is still cited as the #1 emitter of greenhouse gases.

You should have seen how bad the air was over major cities 40 years ago. If not for the 'wacko environmentalists' our cities would be worse than the developing countries.

You can send them a note of thanks anytime...

I'm looking for more specific proposals to dealing with greenhouse gas emissions. You're just giving me the same platitudes SilentZ is giving me.

First you have to believe that fossil fuel emissions are the problem. You don't seem to be on board on that one yet. I am trying to get past this silly objection and proposing to you that a new economic sector can be born if these new ideas for transportation and power generation are vigorously pursued and promoted.

One stupid idea is the notion that CO2 emissions are directly proportional to harmful emissions like smog, carbon monoxide, and ground-level ozone. Take a look at how bad the air is in China and India, even Mexico City, yet America is still cited as the #1 emitter of greenhouse gases.

Hence when Kyoto demands that America reduce its CO2 emissions, yet gives China and India a pass, I have to call B.S. Or when someone proposes that we trade "carbon credits" or sell "indulgences" to rich Hollywood fat cats, I have to call B.S.

That's just an emotional rant...you're saying that just because their self awareness has not caught up to ours yet we should not do anything? I am not sure what your point is...
