"just eight years of Bush, huh?" He didn't say that. It was decades in the making, but the past few years we were romping on the accelerator. "Had Gore been elected for the past eight years, we would have NEVER seen this downturn, AMIRITE?" Hard to say. I doubt if Gore would have been so lax on regulations. But, he might have been also. Clinton certainly was 'business friendly' and Gore might have had similar policies. What we do know is we had 8 years of appointees who were bound and determined they weren't going to put the brakes on any excesses. And we had more than a decade of a Congress who was willing to pass virtually any legislation the various industries wrote for themselves.

Had Gore been elected for the past eight years, we would have NEVER seen this downturn, AMIRITE? Who knows? Who cares? No need to respond. I already know where this is headed. I would love to change the conversation to the future. Let's do it. Forget Bush, Clinton, FDR, LBJ, Nixon, Reagan, whoever. It's always day one. Are you really secure that we are not heading into a depression, and are you willing to take that risk?
