It is interesting to watch the hearings on Cspan on various issues. There are any number of very smart, very well informed people in Congress (along with some absolute idiots). They ask very pointed questions, get exasperated with witnesses and then, I think, they go back to the office and they hit a big road block. The only time we seem to move quickly with one mind is when we are scared out of our wits. I think many people are scared now but maybe not enough just yet. The bad news just keeps grinding along, maybe we need a really huge down day in the market to get us off this schtick.
