Yes.. it's definitely possible. Guess I'd have to see the cost/benefit analysis for such a project before endorsing it. However, I believe it's time to also reinvigorate our space program and this could be a justifiable expense, given the traditional by-products produced from such R&D: Btw, the following article dovetails with this discussion as to how we should spend such vast quantities of stimulus money.
