Krugman is something of an idiot savant. He did legitimate analysis of changes that occurred since Ricardo's work on comparative advantage. Did he fit those changes in context? Note that they occurred because of enhancements in capital and the efficiency with which it's employed? Which in turn came about because the thinking of other classical liberals were given some free rein? For that he was awarded a prize of increasingly dubious merit. Now he and allies at the NYT, e.g., use his subsequent babblings to try to impose nonsense that's repeatedly failed the test of experience. And so many are gullible.
