I don't think I said it was a mainstream view- I thought we were talking about the nuts on each side. If you read me as saying ODS was mainstream, you read me wrong. I didn't think I needed to put the same caveats on since I thought I'd already said these were fringe beliefs- it just happens to be a fringe that's pretty visible on SI.

And Rush pretty much said it himself. If Obama can't "succeed" in the way Reagan did, Rush wants him to fail. Granted, Rush is fringe. But still...

Ironically Rush thinks Reagan "succeeded" with tax cuts- somehow forgetting the whopping Reagan Payroll tax increases that shafted the middle class. The Cult of Reagan is beyond bizarre.

Reagan and tax increases- for those with a memory dysfunction:

Amazing how little difference there is between the lunatic fringe on both sides.

That's why the mutual accusation sessions always go nowhere. Total waste of time, IMHO.

The curious thing about Iraq is that most critics thought we never should have been there in the first place, which distorted the later success or failure debate. Ironically, most wish for success now so we can get out once and for all, albeit for different underlying reasons.
