<<One thing I am learning is the value (or relative lack thereof) of a dollar.>>

Years ago I used to carry a large in my wallet but now I only carry $250 and use plastic for most buys. It's a lot easier spending plastic than real money.

About a month ago I needed some brake work. My mechanic has a shop about a mile from my house and I live in the country. I bought a bottle of 7 Crown for mt evening cocktail in case he didn't get my Jeep done on time.

Dropped my Jeep off and started walking home. Got to Woodrig Road, a small two lane road. Two garbage trucks went by in opposite directions and I had to step into the ditch to let them pass.

Then it hit me. I'm standing in a ditch on a small country road with a bottle of booze at 8 am watching garbage trucks go by. Not the life I wanted.
