News item: Among the largest cuts to the stimulus bill pushed by Republicans are education-related items. And the biggest additions to the stimulus by Republicans are tax cuts, largely benefiting the richest Americans. This makes sense. The dumber people are over the long run, the more likely they are to vote Republican, and support giving billionaires tax cuts.
