We keep on trying to avoid GDII. Maybe we can just skip over the GD part and go right to the getting-out-of-GD solution. - Clean up the banking system so that the insolvent go away and the solvent are preserved -- scary idea these days requiring unbelievable amounts of money. - Stimulate domestically -- doing that soon. - Declare war on Iceland -- they won't shoot back but we can get the war machine up and running (joke). - Declare war on the health care system and kill two birds with one stone, fiscal stimulus and the unbelievably large 16-20% of GDP going into health care. I heard that right after the stimulus bill there is another bailout requet for the banks which is pretty stunning.
