Wow, that is good news. I would say that Rafshanjani is more of a liberal than Khatami. In fact Iranians thought that Rafshanjani would win against Ahmedinijad in the last elections. Consequently, Rafshanjani voters thought that their vote would not make a difference since others would go and vote for him instead. So they stayed at home.

This time however, Ahmedinijad would campaign on "nationalistic pride and the nuclear bomb". So the election dynamics may be different.
