<And has any country ever thanked us for the deaths of our young men? uhm............no. not one. not one.>

Actually when I lived in Germany my father came over for the 50th anniversary (he was with the 95th) of the liberation of Metz... the town threw a giant party and the mayor gave everyone who could make it keys to the city and a pretty expensive bottle of wine. People were all over these old guys... fancy speeches, etc. My dad was thrilled. For all the maligning of France... it's my understanding that they have shown quite a bit of gratitude over the years.

Lady Liberty was a nice gesture as well, obviously a separate issue, but still.

Simple answer choose.

"We need to lead by the power of our example not by the example of our power."

And when I say indomitable spirit, I mean the power of the Americans to build something from nothing. I do not and never will support America going to foreign lands to destroy something.

Our President has had foreign experience. he has lived amongst the poor, the hungry as did Bill who along with his grandfather came in contact with the poor segregated black community. These two Presidents have their foot on the ground unlike some others who had their heads in the cloud.
