I do not doubt that Krugman could be wrong, but I do not doubt his motivation in this way.

I think he views himself as a serious economist. He is promoting or popularizing his economic POV with Keynesian underpinnings as he understands them.

Motivations for Rush Limbaugh and most RW critics are questionable. We know what their political views are but where their economic views come from is entirely unclear.

Is it classical, neo classical, Austrian, or Ayn Randish views?

Or is it some kind of intuitive emotional thing?
