That some people have engaged in hyperbole. And that, obviously, discredits the concept...

It's called "grasping at straws".

What "useful debate"? When one side takes over the whole debate and dismisses ANY dissenting thought as "unscientific," you don't have a debate. You have dogma.

Like I said before, which you keep ignoring, I'm all for cleaner air, hybrid vehicles, and researching alternatives to fossil fuels. What I think is the real distraction are efforts such as requiring sequestration of CO2, trading "carbon credits," and putting way too much emphasis on solar and wind energy.
