Yes Obama won. After talking about fiscal responsibility, and "pay as you go"/"paygo", and "Every dollar that I've proposed, I've proposed an additional cut so that it matches." and saying that his program was "a net spending cut", and saying "We need to eliminate a whole host of programs that don't work." Not by running on "we will add a trillion dollars of additional spending, much of which will be targeted at political constituencies that support the Democrats". Also I don't seem to remember the Democrats saying "Bush won, we should line up behind him and support his programs"
