I just did google 'school overcrowding'. Scanning the first two pages, the articles weren't timely. Almost all were two to ten years old.

Google 'declining school enrollments' and you'll see pages of 2008 and even some 2009 articles announcing school consolidations. Reading a handful of them last night, it looked to me like the macro declines started around 2004 and school districts started responding to these declines in the last 18 months.

For demographics to be useful, they have to be very timely.
