Compromise might have its benefits after all.

It will take some time to change the classic Beltway mentality since the 90's, where you only reach across the aisle to kick 'em in the balls and chop their arms off.

Since the "right" mix of spending and tax cuts is purely a question of ideology and assumptions, the country may be better off if whatever comes out the other end helped to rebuild the middle ground in DC.
