I was a reagan conservative. I dont think reagan brought us to this point. What's happening wasnt inevitable at all. There were other fixes i might have supported back in the day. But in the last two administrations and in greenspans tenure we took a terrible turn. Most of it in last 8 years when we were presidentless. That description came to mind yesterday during obamas news conference. I didnt rave about obama performance. I thought he was too scripted and long winded in his answers but the fact we have a president with a brain was refreshing indeed. US is in a war here for its economic survival. We have to take a lot of risk. US govt needs to perform as well as military did in WW2 when we turned over the future to an arm of the govt. Reliance on govt makes me nervous but until fixed, private sector just cant carry the weight.
