tech and small caps looked real good over past few weeks. There are some signs of life. Banking leading the decline today becsuse there is no visiblity on survival for shareholders. By next week hopefully we get stim bill thru and there is more meat on geithner plan bones. Thats the hope anyway. A lot rides on obama and geithner being more right than wrong--not perfect, just more right than wrong. After bush/paulson there is skepticism out there and thus caution.
Does anyone really know for sure whether citi and bofa will be around in 6 months? I suspect not and until that is made clear, one way or the other, bank stocks will all suffer. I am betting that BofA gets out of ML and Goldman Sachs swoops in and takes over what will become Goldman-Merrill
