Michael, > construction workers in schools are not govt jobs.

If the money is coming directly from taxpayers, then it is a government job, even if it's through a contractor.

> Building schools is not paying someone to dig up holes. There are real benefits from this as from rebuilding infrastructure.

Building schools should be a normal part of a state's education budget, not a "stimulus."

Is our infrastructure really crumbling? If not, "rebuilding" it is a waste of money. If so, we should be rebuilding it anyway as part of the regular budget.

How come the infrastructure only needed "rebuilding" during this current recession? I'm all for infrastructure, but I'm against calling that a "stimulus" because that sets up false expectations and justifies pork.
