I think it is purely due to the tech market getting pounded today. After the shaky Q4 results Apple has been more volatile than other tech stocks in the last few days. AAPL was actually up about 2% earlier when others were already in the -2% range. At this minute, Apple is down about 3.5% which is not surprising considering that MOT,DEC,INTC,CPQ are all moving in the minus 2-4% range. Tech stocks, especially semiconductor stocks all have been hit hard by the troubles in the asian market.

I think the problems in the far east are to blame. Semi manufactures are getting destroyed today. AMat down over 4.5 (41millions shares traded).

On a side note, CNBC reported that next week Jobs might drop the interim lable and become a full fledged CEO. I think he'll do it though I have reservations that he'll be successful.
