>CNBC JOE KERNEN SAYS 54% OF ORDERS ON SEMICONDUCTORS ARE FROM FAR EAST. Joe Kernen and Bill Griffith were discussing the semiconductors and noting price depreciation in stocks like AMAT and TXN around 12:45 pm EST.

I don't think they know what are they talking about. The currency devaluation has two effects, first is making import more expensive, and second is making export more profitable, and those countries, including Japan, Taiwan, Korean, Singaope, etc, are export oriented. So, I think they can afford to spent a little bit more on equip, but make more profit on goods which will export to US.

Does anyone know if this is really true, that 54 percent of orders come from far east? Surely this would impact the semi equip stocks heavily if this is the case.
