An excerpt from Pescod's letter today:

"Some time later this year Zerb thinks it will be the time
to start looking at the base metals, but for right now, gold
is front and centre.
We ask him our favourite question, if he could only buy
one gold stock today, what would it be? He suggests International
Tower Hill Mine mainly for its Livengood project
north of Fairbanks, Alaska and the home to a resource of
6.8 million ounces of gold. At least the assumption is the
location might be safe…No one is sure where the price of
gold could go, but Zerb has a $4.40 target." (

Valuepro, Cardero (CDY) -- thanks for your thoughts, this should be fun ride over the next month leading up to the deposit deadline.

When you say that progress in the iron sands could add value to the $200 M, do you mean that you think Cardero would get a competing offer? It would seem that the Chinese don't believe that's very likely given that they are accelerating the activities at the site, on their nickel.

In any event I'd be thrilled if they ended up getting "just" the $200 M, as you say we are still looking at a double from here if that happens (assuming the market wakes up to this story).

Valuepro, scratch my prior question, I see now that your reference to the iron sands is refering to a whole other project for Cardero, a "Pampa" but not "de Pongo" but "el Toro". I'll quit asking questions at this point, I'm all Pampa'd out right now....
