I'm sort of thinking that oil would simply be a diversification tool... switch some t-bills into it... I don't think I'd switch gold into it if I had the choice. Gold is going to freakin explode! LOL, not too bullish

BTW.. what about minefinders? Anyone think it's a deal here? (I mean other than the fact that they raised money at the freakin bottom... jeez, these companies). And what about ole Bear Creek? Claude fave no?

Looking for stuff that trades in Amerika too. :(

Thanks for that chart onepath. My plan is to shift some gold to oil but I want some evidence that the POO has bottomed first. Easy decision with the POG (and silver) running. Gold seasonality is almost over, but in these crazy markets who pays attention to seasonality?

I'll move my gold ETF's into oil ETF's. Not sure how much from the majors I'll move. Juniors such as DMM, RIC, USA i will let ride - long term options on PMs + there will be a flury of M&A if and when the credit markets open. With corporate debt yielding 13% or so, we are still a ways off that happening imo.

There seems to be quite a spate of equity financings of mining ventures recently.

In today's NR announcing a $60Million equity financing Tony Makuch the LSG pres said, "With the Canadian dollar gold price hovering about $1,200 per oz and development and operating costs declining due to the weaker economy our goal is to advance our projects as rapidly as possible"

It sure is interesting to hear that costs are declining. The profitability of ventures that have recent feasibility studies will be enhanced by the "lower development and operating costs". Such companies might be expected to raise limited equity financing.. (I wonder if that explains the recent market activity of "you know what").
