I've gotten curious enough about this that I'm going to research it and see what I can come up with since I think the number of reads a board gets would be valid here.

And I said this in my previous message: "And we have no way of figuring out how many people are lurking particular boards while not being logged in."

Actually, we do, but it's not easily done. Our log files are in the gigabytes per day area, so parsing them is a big chore, but if we wanted to badly enough, we could have the system itself track unique logged-in user reads on each board, parse the log files using unique IP's (that'd get us close enough) and the difference would be roughly the number of non-logged-in lurkers reading.

On iHub we keep track of how many reads each board gets from logged-in users and even have publicly available reports for that info, so I don't see why we couldn't/wouldn't do the same here.

As I said, I'm curious enough now to want to check into it.
