Private sector dead. Govt making up in part for private sector. No one would be for this binge if this wasnt the case. This is also why tax cuts wont work the way they typically do. The guess is saving and/or adding 3-4mm jobs. That provides a floor under economy which would not add/shed the 4mm jobs if nothing done. Can you imagine the death spiral if we keep losing 600K jobs per month for another 7-8 months? This should stop that.
PS tell inode we already had the war and look at what that did for the economy. Military equipment has less of a multiplier effect. I guess if you increased size of the army it would alleviate unemployment. But bush never did that, did he.

There is ZERO evidence that government spending EVER took us out of a recession. Tax cuts? Yes. But not government spending.

It is a fact that the depression was ended by WWII spending. But that was spending on an unprecedented level that cannot be done at this time. Even these massive spending bills now being passed aren't on a level with the WWII spending.
