The most successful dinner party I ever prepared ended with a lovely Sauterne a guest brought (he told me in advance). I served it with a Stilton cheesecake. My guests at first thought the idea of a savory dessert instead of the standard type was odd until they tried this combo. I knew the cheese was a perfect match (actually I was only 27 or 27 at the time and had to look it up in a book, no internet then) so the idea of a cheesecake was interesting to me. MP
