This sort of swing is always overdone. It was probably overdone to the upside earlier this year, and who knows how much farther its going to fall right now. We long investors should keep our heads and wait for some stability then get back in when its cheap. When I first bought AMAT about a year and a half ago, its trailing PE was 7. The frenzy is really going on now, so lets relax and exploit the overshoot when things finally settle down.

Cheers.

John E. Rylander,

>More directly, will (e.g.) Japanese SEMs be better off after the currency realignments than US companies, because their machines will cost a lot less?

Yes, but If Japanese SEMs want to stay ahead in the industry, they must buy the advance equips which coming from US.
