I think it's better if those advocating spending $800B of taxpayer money would prove to us how this stimulus bill is actually going to "stimulate" the economy. No fair trying to point out stuff that will not see any benefit over the next year or two. Remember, Obama said we have to act now to prevent a crisis from turning into a catastrophe, which suggests a sense of urgency and a need for short-term jump-starting. I think I've already presented the case for doing nothing, which isn't the most ideal solution, but it's better than throwing taxpayer money down a bottomless pit.
