Dont get me wrong, low rates are always good. But with todays issues, they are just about meaningless.

Right - and that's why they are the single biggest component of the stimulus bill written almost entirely by democrats. Even they know that tax cuts will be more effective than simply spending on projects which will split a dollar in so many ways it's hard to see how it will have an effect. Tax cuts are direct to the consumer - and the consumer is the one who is ultimately responsible for driving the economy higher or lower.

The part I hate most about the stimulus is the lack of identifiable projects we can see and measure over time that will create "hope and change" - mostly it's dalibamas speechifing - if he could name a few actual projects like this freeway, that bridge etc - not some unnamed all bridges all freeways projects.
