Lots of reasons why Jimmy Carter failed as a president. Most of it, I believe, was because his administration actively drained the spirit of the American people. He did come across as sort of a nag.

How old were you when Carter was president? 8,9,10 maybe. And at that age you knew the president was a nag. Damn! You must have been a precocious bundle of joy! ;-)

>> So far I give him a B-minus.

You really have to consider the POV. If you're a socialist, you'd have to give the guy an A. He has managed to get legislation through that, anyway you cut it, moves America a giant step toward permanent socialism.

OTOH, if you are a centrist or conservative, you'd have to give him a B or a D-.

I think this gets to the point Rush was trying to make -- if you're a conservative the last thing you want is for this guy to be successful in bringing down America.

Anyone who isn't an extremist liberal has got to be disappointed on some level.

Personally, I think we are headed toward a fascist dictatorship. I'm not quite sure what can stop it at this point.
