Many Republicans senators voted for ethanol as well. I think you and I could have told them all voting for a specific solution was a mistake, but there you have it. Our leaders don't seem to be very well versed in economics. However, Bush was probably the worst of them all. I was excited about voting for him in 2000, because in part, I thought it's about time we get an MBA for President. I thought that meant more prosperity. But it certainly didn't turn out that way. He and his 6 years of Republican Congress ended up being the biggest spenders of all. Our national debt tripled in the 8 years he was in office. So much for Republican fiscal conservatism. That myth was exploded forever. No one believes the recent GOP blather about fiscal conservatism. Where was their outrage over the last 8 years? A little too little, a little too late.
