Self-reliance can only go so far. Which is why humans develop societies. If self-reliance was the best solutions, we'd just be a collection of family units. But, we aren't. That isn't survivable.

Have you ever heard of "survival of the fittest"? I would have thought you might have been vaguely familiar with the concept.

I guess not.
